          • Traditionally, vEdha adhyayanam is not done during certain times of the year (to facilitate study of other parts of the sAsthram and give rest to the ones who are constantly reciting vEdham).
          • thirumangai AzhwAr being blessed by emperumAn with divine blemishless knowledge, lived in srIrangam after completing his various yAthrais.
          • On a thirukkArthigai thirumangai AzhwAr composed thirunedunthANdagam and sung that infront of periya perumAL. emperumAn being greatly pleased, asked kaliyan if he has any desire to be fulfilled.
          • kaliyan requests emperumAn to acknowledge thiruvAimozhi to be the same as vEdham and include recital of the same that during vaikuNta EkAdhasi celebrations. emperumAn agrees. On the order of emperumAn, nammAzhwAr arrives at srIrangam from AzhwAr thirunagari and enjoys the adhyayana uthsavam along with periya perumAL. Thus began the tradition of reciting thiruvAimozhi during adhyayana uthsavam.
          • Subsequently, during nAthamunigaL's time the whole dhivya prabhandhams are classified and organized by nAthamunigaL. He also arranged for other dhivya prabhandhams to be recited during adhyayana uthsavam.
          • During emperumAnAr's times, seeing the difficulties in bringing nammAzhwAr over from AzhwAr thirunagari every year, emperumAnAr orders nammAzhwAr thirumEni (vigraham/deity) to be established in every dhivya dhEsam and adhyayana uthsavam to be celebrated in a grand manner in each dhivya dhEsam.
